Entrants

The submission process opens October 1st 2017. Beers may be submitted online or completing the submission form. Online is through our partner The Data Still. The paper submission form downloadable here on the website and once filled out may be sent by email, fax or mailed.

The Judging Guidelines

All judging will be performed blind by a number of panels of experienced trade only beer buyers. The judges represent some of the top trade buyers in the New York area from Retail Stores, Restaurants, Beer focused bars,Beverage Directors Distributors and Importers. Your beer/cider/sake will be judged by real trade buyers who make buying decisions.

The beers, ciders and meads will first be categorized by their pricing band per category. The judges will then have in the description the actual retail price for each beer in front of them. The judging panel will confer and come to a consensus whether a beer receives a Double Gold, Gold, Silver, Bronze or no medal. Each panel will taste a variety of beer to avoid palate fatigue. In the event a supplier lists an incorrect classification for its entry, the competition will move it to the correct classification.

The Awards

Participating beers in each pricing band in their category will be eligible to receive a Double Gold, Gold, Silver or Bronze Award.
